How to Reuse Your Candle Jars

Candles are great to have around the house, but have you ever wondered what to do with them when they're finished? Keep reading to see how you can up-cycle your candle jars. The possibilities are endless!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Finished candles
• Butter knife
• Cotton balls/pads
• Nail polish remover

STEP 1: Once you've reached the end of your candle, put it in the freezer overnight. This will help the wax to cool and make it easier to remove.

STEP 2: Take your candle out of the freezer and use the butter knife to cut through the wax. Sometimes the wax may have cracked while it was freezing, which makes it even easier to remove it!

 

STEP 3: Once you've removed all the wax, now it's time to get rid of the wick(s). Add hot water and let it sit for a minute or two. Then, take your butter knife and carefully scrape the wick(s) from the bottom of the jar. Some may be easier to remove than others, so just be patient and don't worry about any leftover residue.

STEP 4: You're almost there! Now that everything has been removed, take a cotton pad with some nail polish remover to wipe it clean. The acetone helps remove the wax and any glue residue easily. Also, remove any stickers from the jar. I find the best way to remove them is to place it under running water and use the butter knife to scrape them off.

STEP 5: After you've cleaned the jar, wash it with a little bit of soap and water. And you're done! I filled one up with cotton balls, another with Q-tips, and used the last one for some of my jewelry.
