A while back, I stumbled upon Unfancy (one of my favorite blogs of all time) and was introduced to this crazy-amazing idea of capsule wardobes. 

Definitely check out Caroline's blog if you haven't already, because she goes into more detail on what it is and her how-to guide. And you should also listen to her interview on The Lively Show too because she talks you through the steps and you get to hear her story on how capsule wardrobes sort of came to be. Can you tell I'm obsessed? LOVE HER.

Anyway, I digress. I followed her how-to's to create my capsule wardrobe and also to purge a good amount of my closet before I even got to this step. Annnnd this is where I landed for my first ever capsule wardrobe! Drumroll please...

Now that we've finally been hit with a ton of snow, I can officially say "winter is coming" without jinxing anything. Although, no complaints from me for the first snowfall being fashionably late.  And with winter kicking into high gear, I've been making a few changes to my wardrobe to prepare myself for what Minnesnowta has planned.

Look Festive and Chic In Sweats (YES, I Said Sweats!)

My family doesn't get really dressed up for Christmas, so I like to make sure I'm comfortable, but still somewhat put together so I can jokingly say "I woke up like this."

I saw this sweatshirt a couple weeks ago at J. Crew and I knew it was an insta-buy. I love it because I'm literally wearing a sweatshirt (a sweatshirt!), but the lace detailing makes it kinda fancy. What's not to love? Unfortunately, it's now sold out (sad face), but I've rounded up a few others that I think would be perfect to wear to Christmas dinner. Comfy without sacrificing style – and plenty of room for that post-dinner food baby.

I'd actually been re-evaluating my closet every few months and purging the things that didn't fit my style or I wasn't getting as much wear out of already. So this time around, there wasn't much to get rid of. But if you're a borderline hoarder like I am or are feeling a bit uninspired and want a fresh start, these are some of my tips that I adapted from reading Caroline's blog in downsizing my closet. Hi friends, sorry for being MIA! Last weekend I was in Chicago for my friends' wedding, which was so beautiful and amazing. It was also my first time being a wedding coordinator! It was actually not as stressful as I thought it would be and I hope everyone else thought it went smoothly. Cheers to the happy couple!

But the biggest thing is that I'm moving in a little over a week! I can't believe it's almost here and I'm so excited to have a clean slate to redecorate my space. Have you guys heard of Joe Fresh? Well, if you have, then you're way ahead of the curve! (Or I'm just really behind.) Anyway, it's a Canadian brand that's now available online to ship to the good ol' US of A. To me, they kind of give off a J. Crew/Madewell/H&M/Zara vibe, which I love. And the best part is that everything is actually really affordable!

I ordered a few things a couple weeks ago during their Memorial Day sale and could not be happier. I picked up the striped t-shirt dress in navy, the black space dye active tank, the pink v-neck tee, and the panama hat and I'm in love with everything. I think these are the perfect staples transitioning from spring to summer and I'm definitely going to be picking up a few more pieces later on. (Or this week. That still counts as later.)
